Life is as simple as a child growing up.
First, we played with fire, and burnt ourselves.
It is then, we learnt that fire can hurt, and stop playing with it.
Next, we learn that not all fires can hurt, so we started playing with small fires.
While playing, our favourite toys actually caught fire, and spoiled.
It is then we learn that even small fires can destroy somethings.
Then, we learn that fire can be put out by water, so we started playing with fire again.
While playing, we play with a larger and larger fire. Then, it got out of hand, and burnt both yourself, and the toys around you.
It is then we learn that if we think fire can be easily tamed, we are wrong.
Then, we learn of an item called an extinguisher, so we started playing with small fires all over the place.
The extinguisher worked wonders, so this game continued for a long long time.
It is then, we learn that the worst is coming.
Last, we got too proud and complacent, that we made up a huge fire in an enclosed area, and wanted to put it out after 10 minutes.
The extinguisher was working well, until the fire spread along the wooden flooring, and became out of control.
We tried to put it out by ourselves, but to no avail. So we did the next thing we know - Run.
We ran out of the building, just to find one of our friends missing.
That's one of our best friends, and we could not find him anywhere.
Then we found out that he could still be inside the burning building.
We tried to go back, but the fire is too out of control, and all the exits of the building is blocked.
It is then we started to think, oh no, what have I done?
It is then, we truly learnt not to play with fire, at the expense of a life.
I hate to say this, but I think Sun Zi's Art of War is not going to be nice on all of us. We made a choice, let's suffer the consequences together.
