Many would have find this familiar, for those in my class and in 4/5. Ms Kelly Lim has kindly did each and every single one for all of us. So touched. Anyway, she asked our class to write out what does the picture symbolises to us. And this is what I got to say.
Taking the upright heart shape to be heart A and the upside down heart to be heart B, what we can see is a venn diagram which can give us some sets equations, they are (A intersect b), (A intersect B)complement, and (A union B)complement.
Lets talk about each and every one of the three set equations mentioned above.
Firstly, (A intersect B):
To me, since the two hearts are interlocked, we could say that there is symbolism of love, with (A intersect B) symbolising the time the couple would be together. Notice the middle portion,(A intersect B) has no boundaries oror lines cutting the portion up. This symbolises that there should not be any secrets held against each other, for better, or worse.
Secondly, (A intersect B)complement:
If you do not know, (A intersect B)complement is the portion of the two hearts which is outside the area of (A intersect B), outside the time a couple shouls be together. The symbolism of this area is obciously the time each of them should spend alone, the individual freedom and space each of them should have, the time outside togetherness, and the time which should be spent as meaningfully as the time they had spent together, not lacking in concentration and focus, neither reflection nor, last but not least, love towards others.
Lastly, (A union B)complement:
This is the area outside of the two hearts, also applicable to be the "darkness" of the whole disgram. This symbolises the brightness of two hearts when they come together, illuminating the surrounding. Even in darkness, a light of two people's hearts, can shine bright and illuminate the surrounding.
Physics wise, the light bulbs are connected in series, thus if one bulb fuse, all will not be as bright, and the place will once again be in darkness.
